Sylvia Wilson elected second time period as chairman of the board of Pittsburgh Public Colleges – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh School Board elected its officers for fiscal year 2021 Monday night, and Sylvia Wilson was unanimously elected president for a second term.
Wilson was elected to the board in 2013 to represent District 1.
Prior to serving on the board, she was Assistant to the President of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers and Secretary to the PFT Board of Directors for 30 years.
She was an elementary school teacher at Pittsburgh Public Schools for 26 years.
Along with the election of Sylvia Wilson, Kevin Carter was re-elected as first vice president and Terry Kennedy as second vice president.
The superintendent of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Anthony Hamlet, was also elected board secretary.
