PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – West Virginia lawmakers speak up after one of its members resigns.
New lawmaker Derrick Evans posted a video on social media as he participated in the riot at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC

“Our state was mentioned again on national news around the world for the wrong reasons. The fact that he was an elected official only added to that. It’s not about being a Democratic or Republican member of the legislature, it’s about being a West Virginian who has embarrassed our entire state, ”said Doug Skaff Jr., Minority Leader (D) of West Virginia House of Delegates.
West Virginia Governor Jim Justice will elect a replacement for Evans’ vacant seat.
