Pittsburgh Steelers renew Keith Butler’s contract

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing their exit interviews and have reached four empty coaching slots with them.

After their season ended, the Steelers have announced offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner, offensive coach Shaun Sarrett and defensive coach Tom Bradley that they will not receive another contract. Tight ends coach James Daniel announced his retirement.

One staff member who will stay around, at least for now, is Defense Coordinator Keith Butler. The Steelers announced that they have extended Butler’s contract to the 2021 season as he continues to work year on year, reported Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The 64-year-old butler has been with Steelers since 2003. The eleven-year-old linebacker coach was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2015 after the departure of Dick LeBeau.
