Pittsburgh Steelers’ JuJu Smith-Schuster mentions once more that he desires to spend extra time with Massive Ben
PITTSBURGH – One of the biggest free agent names on the Pittsburgh Steelers list is wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The 24-year-old is expected to get his second NFL contract with a Pro Bowl pick and three seasons of 800+ yards already on his resume. That contract may not come from the Steelers, but he still hopes he does.
Smith-Schuster appeared on Fox Sports Radio to discuss his future this off-season and mentioned his hopes of playing another season with Ben Roethlisberger.
“I would love to come back. I would love to play with Ben for his time here,” said Smith-Schuster. The broad receiver also praised his quarterback’s desire to come back despite having to take a cut from his cap hit of $ 41.25 million.
“It means a lot,” added Smith-Schuster. “He wants to play again. He wants the same people around him. That’ll take it. He doesn’t care about the money. He wants to restructure his contract. I think that’s pretty cool. It’s just about.” show that he’s more about the team than anything else. “
Smith-Schuster also went into the business side of his decision and how it would help the Steelers to have a young quarterback ready when Roethlisberger retires.
“It’s always about winning,” said Smith-Schuster. “I’m always ready to be on a team that fights for and fights for the playoffs every year. In terms of business and money, I want to be paid for what I’m worth. For what I do especially for this team. ” On the other hand, it makes sense to bring Ben in and have a quarterback that I can play with for the future. “
