Pittsburgh, PA – When it comes to movies, Pittsburgh is never confused with Hollywood
But dozens of films have been made in and around the city over the years. Some are cheesy, others have won an Oscar.
But which one is the coolest?
Coolest means both quality and one of the most fascinating cities in America. (The definition automatically disqualifies “Dear Hunters,” which were filmed primarily in Weirton, Gag, and Cleveland).
Below is the top 10 highly subjective list of patches. Feel free to praise, blame, or add in the comments section. After all, not everyone has the same taste for movies.

10. Lightning Dance (1983)
Yes, it didn’t make sense geographically. People walk up Duquesne Incline and down to South Side Flats. The storyline is just amazing. Jennifer Beals appears as a beautiful young woman who works in a steel mill during the day and dances in a bar at night, waiting for the end.
When she entered the famous dance conservatory. However, the film shows the legendary Pittsburgh late Vic Cianca, whose actual movements were comparable to anything Hollywood choreographers had created.
9.Night of the Living Dead (1968)

But what I like most about the patch is that it contains the most photogenic scene I’ve ever worked on celluloid in Evans Cemetery in Butler County.

It took late film director George Romero 10 years to make a sequel to Night of the Living Dead, but it was worth the wait. This gruesome zombie film is a stupid consumer. It also served as a principle satire, and most of the film was shot in the Monroeville Mall. As you can imagine, malls look very different today and the undead rarely walk through the aisles.
7. Me and Earl and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015)
This low budget sleeper is a high quality eye bag for a dying girl. But don’t cry too much while watching. Then you will miss the wonderful scenes of the city. Many were filmed in Auckland’s old Shenley High School and Point Breeze, Squirrel Hill, Auckland and Poland.

6. Sudden Death (1995)
In fact, this fast-paced action thriller is explosive in the longtime Civic Arena, and the central plot element is the penguins who take on the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup final. But that would make a patch list for only one reason: Here’s a scene where Jean-Claude Van Damme defeats the filling of a villain disguised as Penn’s mascot, Iceberg.
5. Jack Reacher (2012)
The thrill of “Mission Impossible” didn’t increase at all. However, this Tom Cruise action film counts in places like the Stanwick Tower Apartments, Marios South Side Saloon, the North Shore Riverfront Walk, the former Sewickly Country Inn, and the Armstrong Tunnel. We call it pretty cool.
4. Flight distance (1993)
Many of the Bruce Willis and Sarah Jessica Parker boat murders took place in three rivers in the city, and the tentative title at the time of filming was Striking Distance. The film also highlights Point State Park and Montana. Washington and Monongahela.

Almost all of Jesse Eisenberg’s romantic comedy was filmed in Kennywood. It doesn’t get any cooler.

How much fun! Heinz Field transformed into Gotham Stadium, with multiple explosions as the former Steelers’ great Hines Ward returned for the touchdown kickoff. Gotham let’s go! Downtown streets are also attracting attention, such as the Carnegie Institute in Oakland and the Software Science Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
