The spooky season is just around the corner and with short time to cram all of your favorite Halloween festivities by the end of the month, here’s one not to be missed: The Downtown Halloween Night Market and Cocktail Crawl on Sat October 30th, sponsored by Bacardi. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and Pittsburgh City Paper have teamed up for a downtown Halloween experience that will delight and appeal to the masses!
On Saturday, October 30th, head downtown to the last night market of the season in the market square, which has 30 vendors, live music and entertainment, and trick or treating from 5pm to 10pm around all of the local manufacturers and vendors’ stalls in the Halloween decor and enjoy the live entertainment including Miss Freddye (5-7pm), O’Ryan the O’Mazing performing circus tricks (7:15 pm-7:45pm.)) and The Yeggs (8-10pm) Shop for Halloween-themed items like clay earrings from Peace Love n Little Gems or eerie artwork from After Dark Illustrations. A full list of providers can be found on this page.
At the night market, stop by Bacardi and Pittsburgh City Paper’s “Night Circus” booth, which has games, prizes, a selfie station, and trick or treat buckets to find your way around the square and collect some candy from the sellers while shopping. You will also have the official Cocktail Crawl brochure listing all of the attendees and their hours that can serve as a guide on your way into town for a spooky cocktail (or two!)
The cocktail crawl portion of the event features 17 downtown restaurants and bars that have prepared delicious cocktails that bring out the fall mood in any Pittsburgh. Each cocktail is prepared with at least one of the presented liqueurs, Bacardi Spiced Rum, Cazadores Tequila or Gray Goose Vodka. From a Bloody Margarita to a Purple People Eater to a Hocus Pocus Shot, there is something for everyone and there are many new cocktail ideas to try out.
With The Speckled Egg Opening at 8:00 a.m. and three other brunch spots and several lunchtime openings, you can either start your cocktail crawl early or wait until the evening and get on your way and take advantage of the witches’ hour and Halloween celebrations.
