2000 Turkey fundraising marketing campaign in full swing | Native information

Thanksgiving is less than six weeks away, and 2,000 turkeys – with the help of individuals, businesses, and organizations – are working hard to ensure Washington County’s families in need enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.

As you prepare for your Thanksgiving meal and discuss what side dishes to add to your roast turkey (or perhaps Cajun turkey), take a minute to write a check for 2,000 turkeys for your neighbors to use may have trouble having a great vacation.

2000 Turkeys has been serving Thanksgiving dinner to our needy neighbors for almost 40 years.

And this year the need is as great as it has ever been, with 2,000 turkeys aiming to raise $ 100,000 to help those who are not so lucky.

Co-sponsored by WJPA Radio and the Observer Reporter, 2000 Turkeys partner with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank to provide Thanksgiving dinner for food-insecure Washington County families, which the Washington County Food Bank serves pantries and older high-rise units each month will.

This year, 2000 turkeys are also donating turkeys to the Washington City Mission for their Thanksgiving Community Boxes of Love project, which is providing a Thanksgiving dinner for an estimated 700 other families.

Thank you to everyone who goes forward to help.

On Friday, Alex Sulkowski, vice president and director of Noble Environmental Specialty Services, presented a check for $ 10,000 to 2,000 turkeys, noting that the Cecil-based company “loves giving back to the community. It is something that we want to do and that we believe in. “

Any donation is welcome, whether it’s pennies by the glass or a check for thousands of dollars. Every dollar helps families enjoy Thanksgiving dinner together.
