22 yr outdated pupil from Pa. Dies in a snowboarding accident in Adirondacks – CBS Pittsburgh
WILMINGTON, NY (AP) – A 22-year-old Pennsylvania student died of a skiing accident in the Adirondack Mountains, police said.
Bernhard “Tanner” Kahlau of Mountain Top, Pa. Was skiing at Whiteface Mountain Ski Center when he lost control, broke off a track, and hit trees shortly after noon on Tuesday, according to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.
Kahlau studied business administration at the State University of New York in Fredonia, where he played hockey.
“He was a teammate that everyone loved. His friendly demeanor, simple manner and welcoming smile made him a leader, confidante and friend for everyone, ”said Jeff Meredith, the team’s head coach.
