Homicide prices in reference to Cassandra Gross disappearance awaited – CBS Pittsburgh

GREENSBURG (KDKA) – A Westmoreland County prosecutor said there are murder charges being brought in connection with Cassandra Gross’ disappearance in 2018, the Trib.

The Trib reports that Assistant District Attorney Pete Flanigan expects to file criminal charges for the murder of Thomas Stanko for the disappearance of Gross.

It came after a court hearing in which Stanko’s attorney asked a judge to dismiss pending criminal cases filed after Gross went missing in 2018. Flanigan said the investigation was still ongoing but the charges were nearing completion. ”

In May, investigators were seen digging along White Fence Lane on the property where Thomas Stanko’s mother currently lives. Stanko is considered the “person of interest” for Gross’ disappearance.

The von Gross family has told KDKA News in the past that they unfortunately believe she is dead, but they are still hoping for a closure on the case. Gross was missing for 18 months before she was pronounced dead.
