State Well being Dept. Stories 9,834 new coronavirus circumstances, 217 further deaths – CBS Pittsburgh

HARRISBURG (KDKA) – The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 9,834 new cases of coronavirus and 217 more deaths on Saturday.

The nationwide total of cases has risen to 548,489 since Friday’s report, according to the state.

There are currently 6,147 people hospitalized with COVID-19 infections across the state, according to the Department of Health. 1,232 of these patients are cared for in intensive care units.

The nationwide death toll has risen to 13,825

There are 3,131,631 residents across the state who have tested negative for the virus to date.

Health Department figures show there have been 47,189 cases of COVID-19 in nursing and nursing homes across Pennsylvania. There are 8,616 diagnosed cases among the staff. This brings the total to 55,805 cases in care or personal care facilities. Of the deaths, 8,065 occurred among residents of care or personal care facilities.

Approximately 17,656 of the total cases involve government health workers.

All 67 districts are currently in the green phase of reopening. However, restrictions apply to bars, restaurants and large gatherings.
