– 412 Food Rescue (@ 412FoodRescue) December 20, 2020 Maggie’s Farm Rum owner Tim Russell understands the economic troubles of the pandemic as he was forced to shut down the on-site distillery’s cocktail bar. But he still wants to help families and has made donations for the hundreds of sachets of pet food for distribution.
“Families are hurting right now and this is going to be a difficult holiday season for many,” Russell said in a press release. βIt broke our hearts to think of people who had to worry about feeding themselves and their pets. We wanted to do our part to ensure that everyone has a Merry Christmas. ”
PAART, a group providing air and ground transportation for endangered animals, has raised Maggie’s Farm’s donation for a total of 20,000 pounds of pet food.
“This year shows that the Pittsburghers stick together in difficult times,” said Brad Childs, co-founder of PAART, in a press release. βHere you have someone whose industry has been hit harder than any other by COVID and their first thought is how they can help other people – and pets. I am so grateful to Tim and our other donors that more families can have a great vacation in Pittsburgh. ”
