Mary R. Donafrio

Mary R. Donafrio, 78, 1116 S. Mercer St., died on the afternoon of December 23, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Mary was born on June 6, 1947 in Erie. She was the daughter of the late Wilford Loader and Mary A. (Hart) Hinkle.
Ms. Donafrio was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1957.
Ms. Donafrio retired after many years as a cook in the former Ladbrook.
She loved playing bingo with her friends.
Ms. Donafrio also enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Last Thanksgiving Day, she prepared more than 40 meals for those in her building.
Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her four children, Mary Ann (Lloyd) Clevenger from Cameron, North Carolina, Carla Bush from New Castle, Christine (Brandon) Johnson from New Castle, and Don (Melissa) Donafrio from Chesapeake, Virginia. Brother, Skip (Patty) Loader from New Castle; five sisters, Vickie (Don) Adams from Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, Grace Smith from Erie, Midge Ginader from Erie, Loreli (Steve) Gavroy from New Castle, and Sylvia Mosher from Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and a great grandson.
In addition to her parents, Mary was led to her death by her stepfather, Myron Hinkle; Daughter Rose Marie Donafrio; Sister Cynthia Boothbey; and her grandson Lloyd Brandon Clevenger.
Private visits will be held for the immediate family on Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2020, at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 Mill St., New Castle.
After the visit to the funeral home on Sunday, a blessing service is held. The seminarian Merv Knieriem from the Holy Spirit Parish at the St. Vitus location will officiate.
The funeral will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made on their behalf to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, 1N Linden Street, Duquesne, Pa. 15110.
