After buying Ennis-Flint, PPG begins its transport options enterprise

PITTSBURGH – (BUSINESS WIRE) – PPG (NYSE: PPG) announced today that it has formed a new business unit called Traffic Solutions after acquiring Ennis-Flint in December 2020.

The business unit will manufacture and supply a broad, global portfolio of pavement marking products, including paints, thermoplastics and other advanced technologies, to customers in the government, military, contracting, commercial infrastructure, engineering and architecture sectors. The newly formed business unit will also work with PPG’s mobility team to identify opportunities to provide innovative coatings that will help support the infrastructure needs that enable autonomous driving and enhance future autonomous, connected, electric and shared vehicle solutions.

The Traffic Solutions division joins PPG’s Architectural Coatings, Aerospace, Automotive Refinish and Protective and Marine Coatings strategic divisions as part of PPG’s reportable Performance Coatings segment.

“We are excited about the new features and growth opportunities for Traffic Solutions and the addition of the business unit to the PPG portfolio,” said Michael McGarry, Chairman and CEO of PPG. “As we strive to improve our existing mobility technologies, the Traffic Solutions division will expand our ability to support improved infrastructure for safer driver-assisted and autonomous driving systems.”
