PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department reports 348 new coronavirus cases and two more deaths.

Of the newly reported cases, 166 out of 675 PCR tests were confirmed. There were 182 likely cases.
The dates for positive tests are March 1-8.
The health department says new cases are between 7 months and 93 years old, with an average age of 37 years.
There have been a total of 5,205 hospitalizations and 78,705 cases of coronavirus in Allegheny County since the pandemic began.
The nationwide death toll has reached 1,703.

The two most recent deaths were recorded in November and December 2020. The Department of Health said the delay was due to the state importing data from the electronic death notification system.
Both patients were in their 90s and one of the deaths is related to a long-term care facility.
