Allegheny Co. Well being Division experiences 271 new coronavirus instances and 30 new deaths – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department reports 271 new cases of coronavirus and 30 more deaths.

Of the newly reported cases, 247 out of 1,172 PCR tests were confirmed. There are 24 likely cases. The dates for positive tests are between December 18th and February 5th. Fifteen positive tests are more than a week old.

The health department said the new cases were between 3 months and 98 years old and had an average age of 40 years.

Of the 30 newly reported deaths, the dates of death were between December 4th and February 2nd. Two of the deaths occurred in December and 23 in January. Two of the newly reported deaths were among people in their fifties. Three were in their sixties. Eight were 70 years old. Ten people were 80 years old. Six were 90 years old and one person was over 100 years old. Twelve of the 30 newly reported deaths were related to long-term care facilities.

There have been a total of 71,083 cases and 4,589 hospitalizations in Allegheny County since the outbreak began.

That brings the nationwide death toll to 1,527.
