PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department announced Thursday that they will begin administering the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine at the Castle Shannon Clinic from next week.

The district health department received four trays with the vaccination for the first shots. While this is a two-shot series, the second shot can be fired in a 21- to 42-day window.
Limited first-dose appointments are available at the Castle Shannon site for those 65 years and over and only on the week of March 1st.

Registrations for the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine in the Castle Shannon’s VFD banquet room will be posted on the county website at 9:00 a.m. today.
No on-site visits or registrations are allowed, and anyone who does not meet the criteria will be turned away.
