Arrested in deadly taking pictures at 17-year-old in Pittsburgh – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – An arrest was made in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Isaiah Freeman.

Darby Deron, a 16-year-old from Pittsburgh, has been charged with criminal murder. He carried an unlicensed firearm, owned a minor’s firearm, and reported incorrectly to law enforcement.

The criminal complaint states that witnesses at the crime scene pulled a gun from Deron and removed the bullets from it. When he started turning it on other people, Freeman hit him off.

At that moment, according to court records, witnesses said he put the bullets back in the gun and shot Freeman.

A teenager was shot dead in a Pittsburgh neighborhood Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 2400 block on Bedford Avenue at around 7:40 p.m. after 911 shots were fired. When they arrived, they found 17-year-old Isaiah Freeman shot dead and loaded into a private vehicle.

Officers followed the driver to the hospital, where he died.

According to the police, several people were interviewed.

The shootout is the latest in a wave of violence involving youth in Pittsburgh.

So far in 2021 there have been 21 murders in the city and nearly 50 non-fatal shootings. According to the police, these are 80% and 90% more than at the same time in 2020.
