Artwork Rooney II, President of Pittsburgh Steelers, presents Invoice Cowher within the Induction Corridor of Fame
PITTSBURGH – Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame by team president Art Rooney II.
On Wednesday at Cowher and Rooney at Steelers.com’s “St. Patrick’s Day Celebration” with former Steelers racing Merril Hoge back. During the show, Cowher made a “special announcement” revealing that Rooney will be his host when he is inducted in Canton, OH in August.
“It was a breeze for me. My host will be Art Rooney, and I called Art that night and said, Art, you’re the only one because you knew before and you knew me after,” Cowher said. “We were a big family.”
“I was really just speechless, and it’s going to be a great honor,” said Rooney as he told the story of Cowher’s call.
Cowher will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame along with former players Troy Polamalu and Donnie Shell from August 5-8. Alan Faneca and Bill Nunn will be inducted into class 2021 on August 6th and 9th.
