PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Baldwin High School students froze last Friday for a reason.

More than 60 students took part in Polar Pop.

The event was designed to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.

Organizers said the event took the place of the traditional polar fall due to the pandemic.

The students didn’t seem to mind that ice-cold water balloons burst over their heads.

“The experience was fun. I’m glad our school was able to sponsor such a great event for such a great cause, ”said Alyssa Barca, senior high school. “I have a few people with disabilities in my family and I always loved helping them when I was younger and now that I’m older I try to help others in the best possible way.”

Baldwin High School ranked first as the state’s Top Cool School fundraising team, raising more than $ 7,200.
