Biden is visiting Pittsburgh on Wednesday

President Joe Biden plans to travel to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, where he is expected to unveil his vision for a massive infrastructure bill.

The proposal is said to be larger than the $ 1.9 trillion aid package passed by Congress earlier this month.

Biden said in his first press conference Thursday that he would provide details of his plan to rebuild both physical infrastructure – roads and bridges – and technological infrastructure.

The President touted the proposed spending package as “a significant number of really well-paid jobs”.

The government passed a $ 1.9 trillion aid package earlier this month in a purely partisan vote.

Biden has not revealed how he plans to pay for what is expected to be a billion-dollar package of spending at a time when the economy recovers the years of damage to the economy caused by the pandemic.

Bloomberg reported that the Biden administration is considering a proposal to pay for the expenses by raising the corporate tax rate, increasing the income tax rate for those with incomes greater than $ 400,000, and a higher capital gains tax rate for those with incomes greater than $ 1 million.

Biden will visit Pittsburgh amid the growing immigration crisis on the border with Mexico, where unaccompanied minors are seeking asylum.

A heated battle is expected to ensue over an expanded voting law aimed at containing the flurry of measures that make voting difficult, such as those passed in Georgia.
