MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Christian Yelich and Omar Narvaez each recorded two hits to lead Milwaukee to a 7-4 win over Pittsburgh at American Family Field on Saturday.
The duo caused the greatest damage in the 4th inning, when Milwaukee struck for five runs to finally continue the game. Yelich took three of these runs home with a double to basic clearing. He later met on a principle double from Willy Adams.
That brought up Narvaez, who sat down in the middle to round the inning.
Narvaez also posted an RBI base goal in 3rd place to score Yelich.
Corbin Burns was startled by 4 innings. He allowed eight hits and four runs (two earned) but managed eight strikeouts. Reliever Trevor Richards took the win by stopping the bleeding for two innings and allowing only one hit.
Josh Hader covered the 9th for his 16th save of the season.
With the win, Milwaukee remains at the top of NL Central in a duel for first place with the Chicago Cubs. Game three of the series against Pittsburgh will take place this afternoon, with coverage starting at 12:35 p.m. on WSAU.
