Poll workers

Residents of Allegheny County can serve as poll workers this November.

Poll workers, also referred to as election officers, earn from $150 to $175 for their work on Election Day. New poll workers also receive paid training.

Election officers do the important work of checking in voters at polling places and setting them up to vote. At the end of the night, poll workers deliver the returns to county election officials. The county depends on these workers to run fair and secure elections.

People who are interested in the process, want to view training videos, find out what the workday is like or apply online to be a poll worker in the Nov. 8 General Election can visit alleghenyvotes.com and select the Poll Workers tile.

Those interested in talking to someone about the position can call 412-350-4500 and choose option five.
