Brook Lane names Robert Keris as chief monetary officer
Robert Kertis joined the Brook Lane staff as chief financial officer on June 7.
“I really believe in Brook Lane’s mission,” Kertis said in a news release. “Because of the varied experience I’ve gained from working in the health care arena over the years, I hope to bring valuable guidance and have a positive impact on the direction and success of this organization.”
Kertis, a native of western Pennsylvania, spent the early part of his career in various financial-related positions at hospitals in the Pittsburgh area. For nearly eight years, he was the system director, financial planning and reimbursement, at Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg, Pa. He then spent seven years as vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Calvert Health System in Prince Frederick, Md.
Most recently he was the executive director, revenue cycle, at UPMC Western Maryland, in Cumberland, Md.
Kertis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in business administration from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh. He is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has completed Six Sigma training.
Kertis lives in Dillsburg, Pa., and has two children.
Brook Lane is a nonprofit mental health facility with 500 employees in four locations. The main campus is in Hagerstown.
