CDC, Metropolis of Pittsburgh Urges To Ring Protected In 2021 – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – New Years Eve 2020 will be a very different experience due to the pandemic.

Streets will be empty, bars will be closed and much more.

However, the CDC continues to want people to ring the bell happily in the New Year and just take it easy.

According to the CDC, the safest way to celebrate New Year’s Eve is at home with the people you live with or virtually with family and friends.

All in an effort to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19.

Other ways the CDC recommends celebrating the holiday include attending a virtual performance, scheduling a virtual countdown to midnight with friends, or a virtual dinner or dessert.

They also say you could plan a New Year party with people you live with or keep it simple by watching movies or playing board games.

It doesn’t mean you have to stay inside.

They also recommend hiking or sledding with the people in your home.

A full list of recommendations can be found on the CDC website.

Even if there are no regular First Night Pittsburgh celebrations in the city center this year due to the pandemic, the Future Of Pittsburgh Ball on the Highmark Building will continue to rise until 2021.

Usually tens of thousands of people gather to celebrate the first night, but obviously due to the pandemic which won’t be the case this year.

City guides also remind residents to celebrate safely, ideally at home.

One of her most important memories is not to shoot guns in the air. Pittsburgh Police will monitor and respond to ShotSpotter calls across the city and arrest anyone caught on them.

The city also prohibits fireworks, even legal ones, if they are used within 150 feet of a building.

Finally, like the CDC, the city urges everyone to follow guidelines to help mitigate COVID-19 by wearing a mask, social distancing, and only partying with those you live with.
