CUMBERLAND, oh. (KDKA) – A baby rhino calf was born last week in The Wilds, Ohio.
The safari park announced the birth of the calf on Monday, saying that larger unicorn rhinoceros calves typically weigh more than 100 pounds at birth and gain a few pounds each day.
According to The Wilds, the mother Sanya takes care of the female calf.

The newborn rhinoceros calf is the ninth to be born in the wild.

The facility calls this a “major achievement” and says the species nearly became extinct in the 20th century.
The Wilds says the new baby rhino calf can be seen during an open air safari tour or a wildside tour.
