We spoke to TJ Gorsegner from our sister site, Twinkie Town, to discuss some storylines for the Twins in 2021. Here’s what he had to say about the team:
1. What has been the biggest surprise for the team so far?
This current, awful, putrid, choked stretch of baseball. The twins have lost four in a row, and nine of their last ten fell to a record of 6 to 11 in the division basement. You have also had several games that have been affected by Covid and will miss several key players for this reason. Nobody played very well so I’m not going to name a specific player right now …
2. Who is one Twins player that pirate fans would be surprised to find on this series?
Just said I wouldn’t name a player, but how about Alex Kirilloff or Nick Gordon as both former first round players will be joining the team. They are in very different locations as Gordon has lost most of its luster while AK is the team’s best perspective.
3. What is your prediction for the series?
I am an eternal optimist. Twins win a game. Twins lose a game. The third is a coin toss, but I’ll say there will be ten innings and that’s why the twins will lose. You have literally never won a game with extras. Stupid Manfredball. Pirates end up taking two. yuck.
