Personal registration for the village preschool
Registrations for The Village Preschool at the Mary & Alexander Laughlin Children’s Center are open.
The program for 3-year-olds is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The class is limited to 12 children. Children must be 3 years old by September 1st. It costs $ 50 to register and tuition is nine monthly payments of $ 225. Waiting list only.
The program for 4-year-olds is Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The class is limited to 18 children. Children must be 4 years old by September 1st. It costs $ 50 to register and tuition is nine monthly payments of $ 400.
Classes are intentionally kept small to allow the school’s skilled, caring, and experienced teachers to get to know your child well and to leverage the Laughlin Children’s Center’s over 60 years of multidisciplinary experience to help your child grow.

Peach social and cake sales
Epworth United Methodist Church will host a peach and cake sale at the church on August 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In addition to baked goods, ham barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans, deviled eggs, peach cobblers, ice cream, lemonade and coffee are sold. The food is available as a dine-in or to take away.

Camp meeting road works
Work began on Camp Meeting Road between Beech Ridge Drive and Fern Hollow Road in Bell Acres on July 26th. The project, which is expected to last through October, includes the replacement of a culvert called Little Sewickley Creek Bridge No. 7 and repairs to the roadway.
This section of Camp Meeting Road has been closed since July 12, 2019 when storms collapsed part of the culvert and the roadway. Traffic will be diverted via Camp Meeting Road Extension, Big Sewickley Creek Road, and Rochester Road.
The $ 293,609 emergency project is being carried out by Pugliano Construction Co., Inc. of Pittsburgh.
