Virtual discussion of adolescent mental health
WQED is hosting a live virtual panel discussion examining tools that people can use to identify signs of mental illness in students. Healthy Connections Panelists: Adolescents, Parents, Educators, and Mental Health Include local and national experts, as well as a student from Washington & Jefferson College. Held on March 10 at 5:00 p.m., the event is in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Well Beings, a multi-year, multi-platform campaign designed to meet the critical health needs of Americans .
Celebrate Page Dairy Mart’s 70th anniversary
Page Dairy Mart, a popular ice cream stand at 4112 E. Carson St. on the South Side, is entering its 70th season on March 5th. Five generations of the Page family have run the business, known for its soft serve flavors, hand-spun milkshakes, and sundaes.

Free mini golf this spring in Oakland
The Pittsburgh Innovation District is installing a nine-hole pop-up mini golf course in Oakland. Located just below Forbes Avenue on a section of Oakland Avenue closed to traffic, the Oakland Open will debut in mid-March and last through April. The free putt-putt course, which is ADA-compliant, is offered Thursday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The opening times can be extended as required. The grounds and pedestrian walkways will be surrounded by nets and a seating area will flank the greens.
The Sankofa Fund awards grants to local organizations
In honor of Black History Month, the Sankofa Fund of Southwest PA donated $ 1,500 to two local nonprofits that help empower the African American community in Pittsburgh: A Giving Heart and Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Virtual City Hall meeting in the Strip District
Strip District Neighbors, a nonprofit representing the Pittsburgh neighborhood, is hosting a virtual town hall meeting on March 4th from 5pm to 7pm. A zoom link will be posted a few days before the event.
