PITTSBURGH – US Customs and Border Protection recently seized two separate shipments of medical eye patches from Hong Kong that are not approved for sale in the US.

According to a press release, both shipments went to separate addresses in Allegheny County.

None of the packages contained instructions or ingredients in English, causing the US Food and Drug Administration to determine that the products violated federal food, drug and cosmetic laws as “Adulterated or Mislabelled Medical Devices.”

The eye patches are valued at more than $ 10,000.
