DICK’S Sporting Items proclaims the opening of its first out of doors idea retailer – Public Lands

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 7, 2021 / PRNewswire / – DICK’S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) will expand its nationwide presence with the opening of its first Public Lands store in Pittsburgh, PA on September 24th.

The retailer will also open another location for its off-price store concept – Going, Going, Gone! in September.

These new additions will bring around 120 jobs to the communities by hiring full-time, part-time and temporary staff for the stores.

Public land, a new outdoor-focused specialty concept, will focus on helping more people get outside to explore and protect America’s public lands. It will carry a premium range of outdoor and lifestyle apparel, shoes and equipment brands, and support the local outdoor community through conservation and access and equity initiatives. Located about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, the 50,000 square foot store will have a 9 m rock wall, an in-store equipment repair and rental department, and specialized stores for various outdoor activities such as biking, camping, fishing, paddling, skiing, climbing, running and hiking. This new store concept will provide an upscale customer service experience that relies on employees who are passionate about their love for nature and who believe in protecting our public land for all. In addition, one percent of all Public Lands sales will go back to local and national conservation efforts.
