PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A woman who lost her job at BNY Mellon because of something she posted on Facebook has lost her appeal in court.

In 2018, Lisa Ellis commented on a Bell Acres town councilor driving through a crowd of Antwon Rose protesters.

Ellis wrote, “Total BS. It’s a shame he didn’t have a bus to plow through. ”

Then BNY Mellon dismissed Ellis.

Ellis, who is white, then sued, claiming she was racially discriminated against.

A judge ruled that Ellis did not provide evidence that her dismissal was based on race.

A federal appeals court just upheld this decision.
