PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Several local restaurants have been closed by the Ministry of Agriculture for violating the current ban on indoor dining.

The Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday that the Rough Cut Tavern and Hotel in Washington County, Tunnelton Inn in Indiana County, and Sharky’s Café and Tin Lizzy’s in Westmoreland are among the 24 restaurants ordered to close.

They say Sharky’s Café and Tin Lizzy’s were both allowed to reopen after requesting a new inspection and confirming they comply with the law.

On January 6, the Department of Health filed a motion with the Commonwealth Court for an injunction against 28 restaurants that continued to dine after receiving closing instructions.

The indoor food closure that came into effect on December 12th was lifted on January 4th.

A county breakdown, including other enforcement actions from the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety, is available online.
