PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pittsburgh woman is charged with vehicle murder while DUI died in an accident on Saw Mill Run Boulevard following the death of her passenger.

Police say Allison Matthew was drunk and driving 100 mph just before her car crashed on Saw Mill Run Boulevard. It killed her passenger, Katherine Barvilchak.

On February 6, Matthew’s vehicle crashed in Duquesne Heights. She crossed the center line before hitting a utility pole. The car rolled over several times. Barvilchak was pronounced dead at the scene.
The criminal complaint states that Matthew was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and her blood alcohol level was 0.18, more than twice the legal limit.
