HARRISBURG (KDKA) – Governor Tom Wolf spoke about the unrest in the U.S. Capitol during a press conference on COVID-19 on Friday.
“The attack on the United States Capitol was traumatic for all of us, all Americans. And all those who were involved in this violent coup attempt – it is nothing less than that – should be ashamed. ”
Governor Wolf also addressed allegations of election fraud. He said Pennsylvania and every other state had fair and safe elections, and that there was no fraud or illegal activity denouncing politicians who challenged the election results.
“For months, many Republican politicians have been deliberately and purposefully spreading conspiracy theories and disinformation – not misinformation – disinformation that undermines all of our democracy,” said Wolf. “They lied to their constituents, misled the public about the safety of our electoral process, and that behavior is absolutely unacceptable and must stop. All politicians have a responsibility to all Americans to stand up and tell the truth. ”
