Hazmat responds to managed ammonia spill within the Strip District – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Public Safety said a Hazmat team responded to a controlled ammonia spill in the Strip District.
Officials say the leak was in Consumers Produce on Railroad Street.
“The members of the HazMat team left the building safely after checking the ammonia level. It has been determined that it is safe enough for repair crews to enter the building and repair the leak if it is equipped with the appropriate PPE. “Said Pittsburgh Public Safety on Tuesday.

It was found that it was safe enough for repair personnel to enter the building and fix the leak if it was equipped with the appropriate PPE.
