Higher Pittsburgh Group Meals Financial institution companions with a nonprofit to heat hearts – CBS Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank loads 100 boxes of more than just edibles.
The organization has partnered with the Hearts of Hope Foundation, which uses the artistic skills of communities, staff and families to paint ceramic hearts with original designs.

The foundation provides the building blocks for people to create their artwork, which is then distributed to organizations around the world.
KDKA employees and their families took part in the recent campaign in the Tafel, and KDKA’s Kym Gable was there when the hearts were placed in cardboard boxes in the Tafel warehouse.

Maria Montaro from the blackboard said, “I think the families are so grateful that they keep hearts and know that someone is thinking of them and doing something special and knowing that it is not necessarily the first thing someone wants to do . ”
The boxes are distributed as part of the agency’s emergency nutrition program called Compassion Corner.
