Highway works over the weekend will proceed on Parkway East in Pittsburgh and Parkway West close to Robinson
PennDOT says road closures and delays on both Parkway East and Parkway West will continue on Saturday night through the end of the weekend.
In the townships of Robinson, Moon and North Fayette, shoulder patching work will be carried out on Parkway West until around 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, weather permitting. The lane closures are between exit 58 / Montour Run Road and exit 57 / Business Loop 376.
The Montour Run Roud on the driveway to I-376 in a westerly direction is closed all weekend.
The signposted detour suggests taking the Robinson Town Center Boulevard exit, taking ramp I-376 west to the airport, and following the parkway back to the Montour Run Road interchange.
Work on Parkway West is part of an almost $ 8 million improvement project that will include drainage, guiderail, median, signage and 13 ramp works on this corridor.
There will be traffic stops on Parkway East in Pittsburgh from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The interruptions are no longer than 15 minutes, according to PennDOT, and occur near exits Glenwood and Oakland – exits 73A and 73B, respectively.
PennDOT officials said there will not be disruptions in both directions at the same time.
The work, which includes jack work on the bridge over Bates Street, is part of the Hazelwood Green project.
