PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Humane Animal Rescue from Pittsburgh hosted a dog food giveaway on Monday.
The event was so popular that people got in line before it even started.
Ellie’s Pet Pantry provides food and basic supplies for pets.
In February, they handed out more than 10,000 pounds of dog food to feed 346 dogs.
“The community is just so nice. We have so many people thanking us and letting us know that their pets thank us too. We’re grateful because the community is helping us keep going during the pandemic. So it’s very important that we give a little back, ”said Katie Campbell, Animal Retention Coordinator at Humane Animal Rescue.
According to Humane Animal Rescue, Ellie’s Food Pantry has given out more than 27,000 pounds of food since January.
