“I simply broke inside:” Household, mates keep in mind the lifetime of Ahmir Tuli – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Friends and family honored Ahmir Tuli on Sunday, a week after he was shot and killed outside his mother’s bar in the Strip District. His mother wants the alleged shooter to be caught.

“I’m broken inside right now,” said Preeti Tuli, Ahmir Tuli’s mother.

Preeti Tuli lost her 18-year-old son Ahmir Tuli on the night of February 21.

North Hills High School graduate was shot dead outside her bar, Preetis Pitt in the Strip District. He worked there.

“He didn’t deserve it and I can’t get the pictures out of my head because I’m the one who came out and I saw him take his last breath in the hospital,” said Tuli.

Hundreds gathered at the bar on Sunday, where flowers and pictures pile up.

They hugged, cried, released a dove and balloons to celebrate his life.

“He was a great kid, a high roll of honor, he just graduated. He bugged me to get his driver’s license, ”said Tuli.

She hoped that her dream of running the business would be passed on to Ahmir.

“He should be my wingman down here and I’ve trained him in everything. I taught him the business, ”said Tuli.

The police are still looking for the shooter.

They said Mark McClendon was kicked out of the bar after arguing with another man, then later returned and shot Ahmir in the head.

“I want this monster to be caught. If anyone sees him, please call the police, ”said Tuli.

She wants her son to never be forgotten.

“I’ll miss him, I’ll miss him. He took the only thing I love more than life, ”said Tuli.

The Pittsburgh Police Department had no new information on McClendon as of Sunday. He is on multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and reckless endangering of another person. Police said his name is also Howard Hawkins.
