Dyngus Day Dash 5K racing on tap
The Pittsburgh Chapter des Kosciuszko is hosting the first Dyngus Day Dash 5K on April 10th in North Park.
All of the money raised during the race will be used to support the Pittsburgh community through student grants and public events.

Glenshaw Valley Spring Craft Show planned
The Glenshaw Valley Women’s Association is holding their Spring Crafts Show on March 20, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are artisans, a random auction, a cake sale, and great food.
La Roche University to expand mental health care
La Roche University will work with the JED Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit, to improve mental health resources on campus.
The four-year partnership focuses on improving and expanding psychiatric care for the entire campus community.
The university also plans to put students on campus with a local psychiatrist for free.
The EMS subscription drive opens
Shaler Hampton EMS opened its subscription drive in 2021.
Etna, Hampton, and Shaler residents will receive a donation form in the coming weeks. Individuals interested in donating can also visit shalerhamptonems.org to instantly activate or renew their membership.
Career center for open house
The AW Beattie Career Center has an open day on March 17th from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Due to social distancing guidelines, this is only possible by appointment and for potential students and their parents / guardians.

Book sales by appointment
Friends of Shaler North Hills Library’s book sales through April 17th by appointment only. Each appointment lasts 90 minutes.
Children’s books are not sold at this point, but there are youth-oriented DVDs, as well as games and puzzles.
The shelves are replenished as soon as donations are received. This is a fundraiser for the Shaler North Hills Library.
Prices are $ 1 for hardcover books and DVDs, 50 cents for small paperbacks, $ 1.25 for video games, and $ 2 for games and puzzles.

Be a food truck in the library
Pittsburgh Pierogi Truck will be at Shaler North Hills Library on Fridays through April 9th.
The seller is in the front parking lot from 12:00 to 18:00. The menu includes pierogis, cabbage rolls and haluski.
Part of the proceeds will go to the library.
La Roche Instagram admissions event on tap
An Instagram Live event hosted by La Roche University features on-site admissions decisions and an inside look at the campus on March 11th.
The live event takes place at 5:00 p.m. and includes an advisor-led tour of a private dorm room and other La Roche facilities, including the Palumbo Science Center, Kerr Fitness & Sports Center, and Zappala Campus Center. Users also hear from current students and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Students are requested to submit an application with the relevant documents before the event.

Free tax preparation available
Free tax preparation is available through the North Hills Community Outreach.
This is a seasonal program that helps low-income households on less than $ 57,000. The service is available until April 14th.

Scholarships for SSA Seniors
Applications are open for Glenshaw Century Club Scholarship for Seniors of Shaler Area High School.

Non-perishable items needed for food propulsion
Non-perishable food donations for the Shaler Area Backpack Initiative are accepted at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 66 Grant Ave., from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on weekdays.
The nutrition program provides weekend meals for more than 100 kindergarten through eighth grade children and distributes easy-to-prepare meals and one-serving snacks to ensure that nutrition is not missed when the children are not in the classroom.
Financial donations can be made to the school district of Shaler Area with the “Backpack Initiative” in the note line and sent to 1,800 months. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116.
Women’s Business Network meeting scheduled
The Women’s Business Network’s Cranberry Chapter meets every first and third Thursday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at Cranberry United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Rochester Road, Cranberry.
