In keeping with Trulia | Pittsburgh is the most affordable space within the US WTAJ

Most of the country’s most expensive zip codes are in California, no surprise here.

California’s San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Diego have the highest percentage of zip codes where zero percent of homes are “reasonably affordable,” for the typical buyer, according to a new study by real estate company Trulia.

Homes were considered affordable when it took 30 percent or less of the median monthly income of the subway to afford a mortgage payment and other expenses such as property taxes.

San Francisco is the most expensive subway in the study. More than 23 percent of zip codes in the region are considered 100 percent unaffordable to the average home buyer. The city has an average home value of $ 946,700.
