INDIANA COUNTY, PA (KDKA) – A judge sentenced an inmate to 50 to 100 years in prison for shooting two state troops during a prisoner transport in 2019.

On Monday, the Pennsylvania State Police said Simere Alford had been convicted of attempted murder of a first degree law enforcement officer and related crimes.

According to the authorities, two state troops transported Alford from the Clymer District Court to the Pine Grove State Penitentiary after a hearing on June 24, 2019. Alford escaped his bonds and rushed between the two car seats.
