Investigators Attempting To Determine Bones Discovered In Tarentum Constructing’s Basement Throughout Renovation – CBS Pittsburgh

TARENTUM, Pa. (KDKA) – Investigators are trying to determine if bones found in the basement of a building in Tarentum that’s being renovated are human remains.

A contractor who was working in the basement on East Fifth Avenue found the bones.

“We used to be an old funeral home back in the 1800s, so that’s kind of suspicious. If it is human bones, who is it, what is it? But yeah, it’s a little crazy,” said Robert Hatjaik, who owns the business nextdoor.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has the bones and is working to determine if they’re human or animal.
