John Geiger delivers the newest model of his GF-01 silhouette in tweed
Although the GF-01 is one of its more subtle shoe designs, the latest iteration of the John Geiger sneaker is anything but.
This week, the designer will reinterpret the GF-01 silhouette with a tweed upper, continuing the preference for luxury materials by his brand of the same name. Apart from the updated material on the upper, the John Geiger GF-01 “Multi-Tweed” has a light brown mesh interior as well as white on the heel tab, the outsole and the “G” logo. The look is rounded off by white and black laces.

Geiger, a transplant from Los Angeles via Pittsburgh, launched his eponymous lifestyle brand in 2017. Since then, he’s been delivering sporty-luxurious sneakers that have become favorites of today’s most stylish athletes and musicians such as singer Teyana Taylor, NFL star, Odell Beckham Jr. and others.
“It’s the most organic part of the brand. I never pushed it on these people. I have never written to or emailed a stylist and said, “Let’s transfer this to this person.” Ninety-five percent of the celebrities you see wearing [my shoes] paid for it, “Geiger told FN in an interview in October 2019.” Sometimes I go into the orders and see the names and they buy five pairs. Then I see a video of them handing out the sneakers in the locker room. I’ll email them and say, “Hey, here’s a discount code for next time.”
