Lady hospitalized after canine abuse in Pittsburgh

A woman was hospitalized after being mistreated by dogs in Pittsburgh Saturday morning.

The Pittsburgh Police, EMS, and Animal Care and Control responded to a report of a dog attack on the 1000 block of Blackadore Street at around 9:10 a.m.

Police found a woman who suffered severe head and face wounds after being attacked by two dogs.

Medics took the woman to hospital in critical condition.

According to the initial investigation, the victim is related to the owner of the dogs and tried to let the dogs out of the house when she was attacked.

The dogs were safe in the house. Animal Care and Control responded to take possession of the animals.

The violent crime department of the police is investigating.
