Man robbed at ATM within the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Oakland
Police said a man was threatened and robbed early Monday at an ATM in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
Officers responded just after 2:30 a.m. on the 3700 block on Fifth Avenue, where a male victim said he had pulled money from the ATM and was walking back to his vehicle when another man walked up to him.
“The (suspect) threatened to shoot him and asked for his money,” said Cara Cruz, public security spokeswoman.
No weapon was shown.
The suspect took the money and fled on foot, but was caught nearby by University of Pittsburgh police.
He is threatened with being charged with robbery.
