Medicine, stolen firearm confiscated by police after probation – CBS Pittsburgh

BUFFINGTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A man and his mother face charges after probation officers conducted a check into police about drugs and a stolen weapon in an Indiana County home.

According to police, Indiana Co. probation officers were conducting an investigation in April when they found a man in possession of a firearm, marijuana and suspected crystal methamphetamine. The gun was found to have been stolen in a previous incident.

The state police were informed of the find and called to investigate. The police then confiscated the items.

On the same day, probation officers checked the man’s mother’s home and found her in possession of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine. The state police were called again, obtained permission to search and confiscated the items.

Both the man and his mother are charged with drug offenses and have scheduled preliminary hearings this month.
