Metropolis League Women Basketball Season Suspended On account of COVID-19 Instances – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Public Schools said the girls’ basketball season in the City League is on hold due to coronavirus cases and quarantine logs.

The district announced on Friday that players and coaches in five teams will be quarantined due to positive coronavirus cases.

Two people associated with Pittsburgh Allderdice tested positive for COVID-19, according to PPS. The team recently played against Pittsburgh Brashear, Obama and Perry. The coaches and players from the four teams will be quarantined for 14 days.

The district said a separate case of coronavirus affected a person associated with Pittsburgh Westinghouse. Players and coaches are now also quarantined for 14 days.

“Due to the number of teams being held, the district will be looking into the possibility of continuing the rest of the girls basketball season,” PPS said in a press release.
