Metropolis of Monessen Looking for Park Beautification Donations – CBS Pittsburgh

MONESSEN (KDKA) – The city of Monessen is asking for donations to beautify three of its largest parks this spring.

The city is asking for trees and benches to be installed in City Park, 6th Street Park, and 9th Street Park.

They hope that at least 10 trees will be planted in each park and that five benches will be placed in each park.

“Monessen is very fortunate to have such a large parking system,” said Mayor Matthew Shorraw. “It makes it difficult to take care of her for some time, but with the help of donors and volunteers, we can make her a little better every year.”

Mayor Shorraw has said the city has already received donations for trees at the stone entrance to the city park.

Anyone interested in a donation can either contact Joesph’s Kindergarten in Monessen directly or Monessen Town Hall.
