Metropolis of Pittsburgh requiring new hires to get COVID-19 vaccine – WPXI

PITTSBURGH — All new city of Pittsburgh hires will be required to get a COVID-19 vaccine, starting Monday.

The requirement is being put into effect as the number of coronavirus cases continues to climb.

Channel 11′s Mike Holden is going over the policy on Channel 11 Morning News, on TV and in our streaming apps.

All non-union employees must be fully vaccinated or get tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis and wear a mask.

Anyone who is unvaccinated must wear a mask at all times inside city buildings. People who are vaccinated need to wear masks in common areas, such as lobbies and elevators.
